We welcome you to a new year. We are looking forward to working with you and your child at the Fairfield Christian Academy Childcare & Preschool. We will offer your child a well-rounded program, which meets the varied needs of young children. In our Preschool, our goal is to provide instruction in areas which will enhance your child's future learning success in an atmosphere of Christian love and values.

Your child's education is a joint venture between home and school. We will do our best to communicate regularly with you regarding our school policies, activities and your child's individual progress. It is our hope that you will keep in close contact with us. Together we can ensure that your child's preschool and kindergarten experience is positive and successful, as well as full of fun!

Z is For Zebra and Zoo!

During "Z" week, children dressed as zebras, made masks and explored zoo animals.  During this student-led activity, the children mapped out the Columbus Zoo exhibits where they have been and talked about the exhibits they'd like to visit in the future.

Toddlers Parachute

Ms. Kim Leasure and Ms. Kim Swann's toddlers had fun bouncing balls atop and darting underneath the colorful parachute last week!  Parachute play promotes teamwork and cooperation, works gross motor skills and helps develop a sense of rhythm.

It is disputable who giggles more-- the teachers or the children!  Regardless, this is a favorite activity in Room 409!

South Central Power Ignites Preschool Learning

Child Care parent Jay Johnson, a Dispatching staff member with South Central Power, along with Energy Advisor, Rod Evans, recently presented the Preschool and Child Care with a lesson on electricity.  Mr. Evans came equipped with a miniature town set and demonstrated the dangers of fallen power lines in the neighborhood, explained why birds can safely perch on power lines, and discussed power safety and how electricity works.

According to the children, the best part of Mr. Evans and Mr. Johnson's visit was when Freddy's kite got caught in the power lines and caught on fire!

Thank you for giving our kids an exciting, hands-on lesson.  We appreciate you sharing your God-given light with the Fairfield Christian Academy Preschool and Child Care!
